During pregnancy, eating healthy and taking regular exercise as prescribed by your doctor is important if you want your child to be at less risk as an adult of being overweight. A study has found that a baby weighing more than 4000 grams is twice as likely to be overweight in later life. Prof. Andreas Plagemann from the Charité Department of Obstetrics headed the study. He explains: “Even more than before, the course of pregnancy is proving to be the key factor for the health of the child for its whole life.”
